The MS art club was established as a way to bring art to middle schoolers who no longer have standard art classes. At present, the club is made up of a handful of 7th and 8th graders. During our most recent meeting we discussed some of the things that they might like to work on during the year. Working with clay was a popular choice, so after the holidays club members will be getting their hands dirty while they learn some basic hand-building techniques.
Through the art club, middle school students will be able to experiment with new media, come up with their own ideas for projects, and continue to develop their skills as artists.
